Lots of color...lots of inspiration...and get to enjoy the day out with my friend!  What could be better?

Valentine's Candy Corn

Ummm...yesterday I went to the big store that I always swear I never will go to again.

I know...I know...I should have listened to the voices in my head telling me not to do it.  But free shampoo with my coupons is a hard thing to pass up...and it was possible to get two bottles of free shampoo with my coupons at that store.

Bad news: The lady in front of me bought FOUR CASES of ammo...yes, I said FOUR. I am in total shock...not one case, but FOUR...why in the world does one person need that much? Please don't tell me she's shooting rabbits!

Good news: They had Valentine's candy corn...I so love candy corn.  Especially with these colors...the pink/red/white combination appeals to me so much more than the orange/yellow combination. I have to confess I've been tossing those things down the past few hours as I sit here quilting my postage stamp quilt...yummy!

I think I should take a bag of these candies to the quilt show tomorrow to give me inspiration for fabric colors....in my big pink purse.

Christmas Leftovers

No more cookies jars full of treats...no more bowls of ribbon candy sitting on the counter ...the holidays are over...the daughter has gone back to college...life is back to a normal pace...somewhat.

I don't know about you, but I always seem to forget to put a few decorations and find them a week or two later. This year I forgot to "deChristmastise" the downstairs bathroom, leaving a moose and Santa to be scrunched into the boxes already packed away.

But this guy...the new nutcracker...he is permanently staying out, standing tall and proud with the fathers' flags from military service.

He's pretty cute, isn't he?
